Mini Stars – Play Group

Ages: 6 months to 5 years. Mini Stars sessions are supervised, unstructured, child-initiated sessions allowing children to explore the venue in their own time and on their own terms.

Free play develops essential gross and fine motor skills as children run, jump, swing, and balance in our well-equipped facility with participants getting to use their imagination through fundamental movement.

While we do have Adelaide Hills Recreation Centre staff supervising and available through these sessions, due to the developmental stage of this age group, parent participation is required throughout the entire session. This allows a higher range of control and safety and the ability to share in the fun!

Hoops (Basketball)

Basketball is a fun team sport that helps children to develop their hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, agility, balance, endurance and working as a team.

Basketball is an inclusive sport that can be played in any weather enabling you to stay warm and dry in winter and avoid the harsh sun in summer, the perfect spectator sport!

As a very social sport, playing sports helps kids develop their communication and social skills. They learn how to work as a team, talk to others and make new friends.

Teen Gym and Teen Gym Boxing

Introducing teens to boxing as a fun fitness option, these sessions feature an exciting and lively warm-up, skills development in both padding and boxing, plus a variety of combinations.

Please wear comfortable active wear, sneakers, and bring a water bottle.

HGA Gymnastics Holiday Sessions

Hills Gymnastics Academy (HGA) Gymnastics Holiday Sessions are a fun way for children to work on their balance skills, increase coordination and proprioceptive awareness. Being in a group environment while being physically active increases social and listening kills as well as being mindful towards others.

Badminton Clinics

Badminton is a great sport for children because it helps them to build strong motor skills, develop social skills such as teamwork and communication.

These badminton clinics provide the perfect opportunity for children to learn how to play badminton or work on their existing badminton skills.

Squash Clinics

Squash is a fun sports that can help participants to enhance their hand-eye coordination, catching and throwing abilities, stability and balance, speed and agility, along with skills for jumping and landing.

These squash clinics are a great way for children to try squash and learn how to play. They will learn footwork, racquet techniques, and have fun with mini-games!
